Ocean was the son of Uranus and Gaia and strongest of the twelve Titans and Titanides. Everybody envy for the excess power and fighting often for supremacy. Many times he tried to rape Hera, but Zeus protected and saved her. With his sister and his wife Tethys has descendants all the deities of rivers, the sea and resources - Oceanid. The two were so fruitful that the overproduction of aquatic elements of nature became flooding. So eventually divorced and evil stopped.
